Week 3 Day 1-Wednesday 8/30/17

Exercise name: Week 3 Day 1

Description: Treadmill work out

Duration: 30 minutes

Distance: 2 miles

HR: pre work out: 75bmp
        post work out: 166bmp

Reflection: Literally, day 1 after about a month of not working out, and it was tough! Before I stopped working out, I had a routine going that included only a mile on the treadmill. Today I pushed myself I hit the mile mark and it was only 15 minutes in, I was ready to quit but I kept on pushing. I walked for 3 minutes at a speed of 4.0 and jogged for 3 minutes at a speed of 5.0 to start. I kept the same speeds but changed my time to 5 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of jogging and continued to alternate times throughout my workout. 20 minutes in and I kept telling myself I was almost there, 25 minutes and I was feeling the burn, and my heart rate was at 178 bpm. I walked the last 5 minutes, as a cool down and at 28 minutes I was feeling good and glad I was almost at my 30 minute goal. Pressing that stop button at 30 minutes felt great and I was sweating! In class we discussed the FITT principle and for this week I plan on completing a tread mill work out for a frequency of every other day, for intensity, I plan to continue to push my speed rate and for time and type, I plan to work out for 30 minutes on the tread mill each work out. All in all day 1 was a success and you can only imagine how great it felt to hop into the shower right after. I can't wait for day 2!
